Chasing the Wind
We chase the wind.
But questions chase us.
We chase for answers
in the gales and gusts.
We chase for answers
after storms at sea.
We run for comfort
when it’s blown and flees.
We seek for more
than faithful trust.
But questions chase
to grapple with us.
We seek for
why it had to be,
For freedom from
silence’s tyranny.
We chase to see, when
the light is dim,
why questions
bring the darkness in.
The questions slow us
as we seek
to climb atop
Answer’s Peak.
The questions ask
if we can rest
in the God Who
only does best.
The questions ask
if we will end
all our strife
to chase the wind.
